Albion Rovers are looking to defy gravity for the first time in nearly 80 years by staying up in the Second Division by seeing off Stranraer at Cliftonhill on Sunday despite being two goals down. The Coatbridge side are also hoping that their ‘Mr Consistent’, Alan Reid, will get over the sickness bug that saw him miss out in midweek and allow him to take his place in the second meeting.

Stranraer finished the regular 36 game season as the highest scorers in the three IRN-BRU Divisions of the SFL and they showed their eye for goal when they completed the job of getting to the Final of the Second Division Play-Off in fine style against Queen’s Park.

A little bit of sunshine was seen this week in Ayr despite the Honest Men losing their First Division status after defeat from Airdrie United last Saturday as Keigan Parker’s stunning overhead kick was voted as the last SFL Goal of the Month winner of the season.
