Walker on way back for Sons
Wednesday 21st November 2012
Dumbarton striker Pat Walker continued his fight for a return to first team football following an ankle injury by playing for the Sons reserves against Queen’s Park at Lesser Hampden on Monday night.
The 28-year-old was injured in a pre-season game against St. Mirren and has not yet featured in the First Division this season and the game against the Spiders was his second reserve match, although it was not a game to remember for Walker and his team-mates.
Queen’s Park’s second string were 4-1 up at half time after a double from Scott Gibson and goals from Ian Watt and Jamie Longworth with Owen Ronald adding making it 5-1 in the second half.
Dumbarton’s interim boss Jack Ross said, “It is great to see Pat step things up and hopefully he will be back in the first team squad soon.”
