Peebles finds club
Thursday 9th September 2010
Former Stenhousemuir kid Robbie Peebles, who trained for a week with Barcelona after winning a competition through Coca-Cola when he was fourteen, has joined Glasgow Junior Vale of Clyde. Peebles was ready to quit the game in the summer after being released by the Warriors, however he was persuaded to stick at it by his singing Dad, Ricky, who represented Britain at the Eurovision Song Contest in Brussels 23 years ago.
Peebles senior said, “I told Robbie to stick in and that had taken many knocks in my music career and always bounced back. Hopefully his time at Vale of Clyde will give him the platform and confidence to move back up the way in his football career.”
