McGinn set to push for SPL place after spell with Spiders

Wednesday 28th November 2012

Queen’s Park’s head coach Gardner Speirs reckons that St. Mirren full back Paul McGinn will be all set for a SPL debut in 2013 after two months on loan at Hampden.

Paul McGinn in action for Queen's ParkMcGinn returned to his former Spiders club on a temporary basis last Friday on a loan deal that will run until the end of January and he played in the 2-1 win over Stirling Albion.

Speirs said, “Paul is well known and respected here after coming through the Youth System and we were delighted when he got the chance of full time football at St Mirren in the summer. He needs games to make the push for a first team place and we were looking for a full back so it made a lot of sense to bring him back here and I have to thank Danny Lennon and his staff for helping make that happen.”

“When you consider it was his first fully competitive game in 6 months on Friday he did well and I reckon will be ready for a place in Danny’s first team squad when he goes back.”
