Livi for Life calls on fans to give "A Quid for the Kids"
Tuesday 29th March 2011
The Livi for Life Supporters Trust has today called upon all Livingston supporters to help their club's community and youth development work by giving £1 at this Saturday's home match against Brechin City.
LFL's “A Quid for the Kids” event aims to raise money to invest in new training equipment to support the development in young footballers through the club's highly successful youth development system and community coaching programme.
“If there's one thing that has set Livingston FC apart from other clubs of a similar stature in recent years it has been the ability to develop terrific young players,” said David Stoker, the chairman of Livi for Life, and the Trust's representative on the Livingston FC board of directors.
“It's a great source of pride that our club has produced international quality players like Graham Dorrans, Robert Snodgrass and Murray Davidson.
“It's vital that we continue to give our coaches the best chance possible of bringing players through, and by giving £1 at Saturday's game, Livingston supporters can help give them more tools to do their job.”
To play their part, all supporters need to do is drop £1 into the Livi for Life collection buckets which will be manned by volunteer supporters at the Livingston v Brechin City league match at the Braidwood Motor Company Stadium on Saturday, April 2.
All proceeds will be used to purchase training equipment as part of the Trust's ongoing three-year commitment to invest £50,000 in Livingston FC in return for an increased shareholding in the club.
Last season, Livi for Life invested a total of £20,000 in Livingston FC, including £7,000 specifically to kit out all Livingston FC youth teams with new tracksuits and training apparel.
