Full back to swap Berwick for Ayr?

Berwick Rangers have given up in their attempt to sign former Clyde and Dundee full back Eddie Malone, who played recently for them as a trialist against Arbroath. Malone, who played for Morton on a similar basis recently, looks set to sign for Ayr United where he has also played as a trialist.
Malone along with former Queen of the South and Airdrie United midfielder Ryan McCann both played for the Honest Men in their 3-2 success over East Fife at the weekend with Somerset Park boss Brain Reid now hopeful of landing the duo.
