Time for Heroes - Albion Rovers Fundraiser

Time for HeroesCoatbridge indie/alternative night ‘Time for Heroes’ is run by 2 Albion Rovers fans who are putting their DJ/Promoting skills to good use to put on a gig with funds raised going to their favourite football team…Albion Rovers FC.

The Division 2 team have one of the smallest budgets in UK football and following the recent Rangers debacle, lost 2 home money-spinning games against local rivals Airdrie Utd who were promoted to Division 1. With money being extremely tight for the Rovers, the Time for Heroes boys have arranged a gig to raise money for their beloved club.

The gig is on Saturday 17th November 2012 at The Function Room in Coatbridge. Tickets are only £5 each with all money raised going to the club. Four very talented local bands have been lined up to entertain the fans.

Details of the bands booked to play are;

KASULE Electronic noisemakers and Rovers stalwarts named after Albion Rovers legend Vic Kasule.

GAV PRENTICE Member of ‘Over The Wall’ (Burnistoun theme), which is named after a 1970s Rovers fanzine. Gav’s first solo album was released in October 2012.

RAYMOND MEADE Singer/song-writer who is Rovers’ Finance Director, Frank Meade’s son. Raymond’s debut solo album was released in August 2012.

FEET OF CLAY Coatbridge band with a growing reputation as a great live band.

Following the live music, there will be dancing to the best indie/alternative music until 1am.
