| Dundee in cup cruise Dundee made light work of seeing off Stranraer in the Co-operative insurance cup, running out 5-0 against the part-time outfit. The hosts rarely had to work for their goals while Stranraer saw their afternoon topped off by the late dismissal of goalkeeper David Mitchell. Impotent throughout, the visitors first picked the ball out of their net in the 23rd minute when Sean Higgins glanced in Gary Harkin's powerful header. The winger himself scored the second six minutes later after weaving past four defenders then, in the 37th minute, the match was epitomised by a farcical goal in which the embarrassed keeper firstly palmed a hopeful 35-yard shot from Higgins against the bar then subsequently fumbled the rebound for Colin Cameron to tap in.
