Rooney spot on for Inverness Inverness needed an Adam Rooney penalty to see off basement-boys Airdrie 1-0. The Diamonds should have taken the lead in the 13th minute when Diarmuid O'Carroll headed over from six yards. John Baird spurned another excellent chance for United when he volleyed wide from close range. Six minutes before the interval Rooney met a Ross Tokely cross on the volley and rattled the post. But he gave his side the lead from the penalty spot two minutes later after Stephen Robertson fouled Danni Sanchez.
