Wood with winner
Gary Wood struck a second-half winner as Ross County climbed to the top of the Division One table with a 1-0 victory against bottom club Airdrie United.
The Diamonds, who were only promoted due to Livingston's demotion to the Third Division, are now without a win in 10 games.
The home side did, however, force the early play and John Baird went close to opening the score in the opening 10 minutes on two occasions but twice he was foiled by Ross keeper Michael McGovern.
Despite dominating, Airdrie never looked like scoring after their early flurry and it was the visitors who eventually found the net 12 minutes from time.
The home backline all stood off their respective opponents and the ball slowly made its way to Wood, who turned and fired home at Stephen Robertson's left-hand post.
