Match Report
County claim thrilling win Ross County claimed three points against 10-man Airdrie in an action-packed 2-1 win at Victoria Park. Paul Di Giacomo, making his debut as a result of Steven Craig's injury in the warm up, opened the scoring in the 18th minute when he drilled home Michael Gardyne's pass from 10 yards. Garry Wood doubled the lead in the 32nd minute when he got on the end of a deep cross from Scott Morrison and powered a header high into the net. Airdrie were then awarded two penalties in the space of seven first-half minutes. Stephen McLaughlin fired the first spot-kick against the crossbar after Paul Lawson hauled down Scott Gemmell, but John Baird made no mistake from 12 yards after he was fouled by Graham Girvan. The Diamonds went down to 10 men a couple of minutes before the break when Frankie Lagana picked up a second booking. County dominated the second half but were unable to extend their advantage.
