Fifers book place in third round Second-half goals from Craig Johnstone and Stuart Cargill sent East Fife into the third round of the Alba Cup with a 3-1 success against Stirling. The Fifers went ahead in only the third minute when Hibernian loanee Kurtis Byrne found space inside the penalty area and drilled his shot past Scott Christie. The visitors levelled in bizarre fashion just before the half-hour mark when Stewart Devine's corner eluded everyone, including home keeper Stewart Baillie, and crept into the net. But four minutes after the interval East Fife grabbed the second when Scott Eurie crossed from the right wing and Johnstone was on hand to tuck the ball away from close range.
