Revenge is sweet for Caley Thistle
Inverness gained some revenge for their league defeat at home to Ross County earlier in the season as they booked their place in the Alba Challenge Cup final with a 1-0 victory.
Caley Thistle had the better chances of a poor first half, and after Richie Foran had twice gone close in the first half an hour, they took the lead a minute before the interval.
A long ball into the box saw Foran beat County goalkeeper Michael McGovern to the ball and when it dropped to the back post, Robert Eagle sent in an effort that crept in at the far corner.
Inverness came close to a second shortly afterwards, but Nauris Bulvitis was superbly denied by McGovern from a Jonny Hayes free-kick.
Both Scott Morrison and substitute Garry Wood had opportunities for County after the interval, while the woodwork denied Paul Lawson an equaliser late on as Inverness held out to reach next month`s final.
